About Spring Hill station
Spring Hill is the western end of the Tysons cluster of Silver Line stations, an elevated platform above Route 7 near Spring Hill Road. Like its neighbors it was built to convert a car-dependent commercial district into something you can arrive at by train, and the transformation is still in progress — there are office buildings and new residential towers around the station, and there are also stretches where the walk is along a highway shoulder. For riders it functions as a straightforward commuter stop: park nearby or get dropped off, ride east into Arlington and the District, or west toward Reston and Dulles. It is the least tourist-facing of the Tysons stations and does not pretend otherwise.
The area around Spring Hill
This is the western edge of Tysons, an area that spent decades as suburban office parks and big-box retail and is now slowly being rebuilt into something denser around the four Silver Line stations. Around Spring Hill you will find offices, apartment buildings and car-oriented commercial frontage on Leesburg Pike. The rider base is mostly people who work in Tysons or commute out of it.

Tips for using Spring Hill
- The platform is elevated above Route 7, so allow time for the escalators or elevator between street level and the trains.
- Tysons Corner Center and the main mall complex are closer to Tysons station, one stop east, rather than to Spring Hill.
- Crossing Leesburg Pike on foot means using the marked crossings and the station’s pedestrian bridges — it is a wide, fast road and not somewhere to improvise a route.
Spring Hill station FAQ
Use Tysons station, one stop east of Spring Hill, which connects to the mall by a pedestrian bridge. Spring Hill is at the far western end of the Tysons area and is a considerably longer walk to the shopping center.
There is no Metro-operated park-and-ride garage at this station. Some nearby private and commercial garages offer parking, but if you need a guaranteed commuter space on the Silver Line, Wiehle-Reston East to the west has a large Metro garage.
East it runs through the rest of Tysons, down through Arlington and across the Potomac into downtown Washington. West it continues toward Reston, Herndon, Dulles International Airport and the Ashburn terminus in Loudoun County.
Yes. Like all Metro stations it has elevator access between street level, the mezzanine and the elevated platform. If an elevator is out of service, WMATA posts alerts and arranges shuttle service; check wmata.com before traveling if that matters to your trip.
