Rosslyn Station - DC Metro
Blue Line, Orange Line and Silver Line - interchange station in Arlington, VA.
About Rosslyn station
Rosslyn is the Virginia end of the Potomac tunnel and one of the deepest stations in the system, with an escalator run that regularly makes lists of the longest in the country. Three lines – Blue, Orange and Silver – converge here before crossing under the river into Washington, which makes it a critical junction and a common transfer point. Above ground, Rosslyn is a cluster of office towers on the bluff overlooking the Potomac. Its real value to visitors is the walk: across Key Bridge into Georgetown, or up the hill to the Marine Corps War Memorial and the Netherlands Carillon, both of which look back across the river to the monuments.
The area around Rosslyn
High-rise Arlington – office towers, hotels and apartments packed onto the bluff, with the river and parkland immediately below. Street level has improved but remains dominated by large buildings and multi-lane roads. Weekday ridership is office-driven; evenings and weekends bring visitors heading for Georgetown or the memorials, and cyclists using the trails that pass beneath the towers.

Rosslyn station FAQ
It is the usual one. Georgetown has no Metro station, and the walk from Rosslyn across Key Bridge takes roughly fifteen minutes to the M Street shopping area. Foggy Bottom-GWU on the other side of the river is a comparable walk from the District side.
They are among the longest in the country – the station is deep because the tunnel has to dive beneath the Potomac just east of here. Expect a ride of a couple of minutes. Elevators are available for anyone who prefers not to use them.
Yes, in around fifteen minutes south and uphill toward Arlington Ridge. The Netherlands Carillon stands next to it. The climb is real but the view back over the Potomac toward the monuments is one of the best in the region.
The Blue, Orange and Silver Lines all serve Rosslyn, converging here before the tunnel under the Potomac. It is one of the busiest junctions in the system, so check which line a train is running as it arrives rather than assuming by direction.
