About Minnesota Ave station
Minnesota Ave is an above-ground station on the eastern branch shared by the Orange and Silver Lines, serving the Northeast neighborhoods around Minnesota Avenue and Benning Road. It has a modest park-and-ride of a few hundred spaces and a bus interchange that does much of the real work here, gathering riders from the surrounding residential streets. A large District government office building sits directly beside the station, which brings a steady weekday flow that is not typical of the neighboring stops. This is a commuter station rather than a visitor one: the value is in a fast, direct ride downtown, with the Anacostia River and its trail network a walk to the west.

- The bus bays handle a large share of the traffic here, so allow time for the walk between the bus loop and the platform.
- Parking is limited to a few hundred spaces and fills early on weekdays – Landover or New Carrollton are better bets if you need a guaranteed space.
- The platform is above ground and exposed, so dress for the weather in winter and summer alike.

Yes, but modestly – roughly 333 spaces, which is small compared with the Maryland park-and-rides further out on the same lines. It tends to fill during the weekday morning peak. If you need reliable parking, Landover or New Carrollton are much larger.
The Orange and Silver Lines both stop here on the shared eastern branch, giving direct service through downtown Washington and out toward Virginia. Frequencies differ between the two lines through the day, so check the platform displays or wmata.com.
It is. The platform sits in the open alongside the rail corridor, with no enclosed concourse over it, so weather is a real factor. Shelters are provided on the platform but the walk from the bus bays and lot is exposed.
