About Landover station
Despite the name, Landover is not the station for FedExField or for anything resembling a town center. It sits on Pennsy Drive in the middle of a warehouse and light-industrial district east of Washington, and its job is almost entirely to absorb cars. With close to 1,900 parking spaces feeding a single station building, it functions as a straightforward park-and-ride on the Orange and Silver Lines, catching drivers off the Beltway and Landover Road before they reach the congested inner stretch of the corridor. The platform is above ground alongside the rail right-of-way. Outside the morning and evening peaks the surrounding blocks are quiet, with little foot traffic and few reasons to linger.

The blocks around the station are industrial: distribution warehouses, contractor yards, fleet depots and county facilities, with residential Landover and Palmer Park set back some distance beyond them. Almost everyone using the station either parked in the lot or arrived by bus. There is no walkable retail cluster next to the entrance, and sidewalks along Pennsy Drive are sparse.

Yes, and a lot of it – roughly 1,866 spaces, making it one of the larger park-and-ride facilities on the eastern side of the system. Spaces are generally available if you arrive early in the weekday peak. Parking is much easier midday and on weekends.
Honestly, not much. The station is surrounded by warehouses and industrial yards, and the nearest retail along Landover Road is a long walk on streets that were not designed for pedestrians. Most riders here drive to the lot or transfer from a bus.
