About Cheverly station
Cheverly is one of the more isolated stations on the Orange and Silver lines, tucked into a pocket of Columbia Park Road surrounded by light industry and highway ramps rather than by the town it is named after. Two entrances serve a park-and-ride lot of around five hundred spaces, and connecting buses do much of the work of linking the station to the residential streets of Cheverly proper, which sit up the hill to the north. The result is a quiet station with a strongly commuter-shaped day: busy in the morning and evening peaks and very calm in between. It is an efficient place to catch a train and not much else.

The Town of Cheverly itself is a leafy, established Prince George’s County suburb of interwar and postwar houses on curving tree-lined streets, but it is separated from the station by a stretch of industrial land and the rail corridor. Immediately around the platform there is warehousing, roadway and parking. Riders are Cheverly and Landover residents, most of whom drive or take a bus the last stretch.

- The lot here is moderate in size and does fill during weekday mornings; Landover and New Carrollton offer larger alternatives.

The Orange Line and the Silver Line both stop here. They run together west through Deanwood and Stadium-Armory into downtown Washington and then separate in Virginia, so check the destination on the train if you are traveling beyond Rosslyn.
