Crystal City Station - DC Metro
Blue Line and Yellow Line - interchange station in Arlington, VA.
About Crystal City station
Crystal City serves one of the fastest-changing districts in Northern Virginia, now marketed as part of National Landing and best known as the location of Amazon’s second headquarters. Blue and Yellow line trains stop at the shallow platform, and four entrances link it to the street grid and to the Crystal City Underground, the network of below-grade shops and passages threaded beneath the office towers. Virginia Railway Express trains stop nearby, and Reagan National Airport is a single stop north on the same lines – a combination that makes this an unusually well-connected place for business travel.
The area around Crystal City
Crystal City is a compact grid of high-rise offices, hotels and apartment blocks between Route 1 and the Potomac, historically defined by federal and defense contractors and now reshaped by Amazon’s arrival and a wave of new construction. Street-level life has grown noticeably along 23rd Street South and around the newer Metropolitan Park blocks. Riders are office workers, hotel guests, airport travelers and residents.

Crystal City station FAQ
Ride one stop north on either the Blue or Yellow line to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport station, which connects directly to the terminals. It is a very short ride. Walking is not advisable – the route crosses airport access roads and is not designed for pedestrians.
The Blue Line and the Yellow Line both stop here. Northbound, the Yellow Line crosses the Potomac directly toward L Enfant Plaza while the Blue Line runs through the Pentagon and Rosslyn, so check the destination sign depending on where you are headed.
Yes. The Metropolitan Park campus is roughly five minutes walk from the station, and further Amazon development sits nearby in the same district. The area is now often referred to as National Landing, which covers Crystal City, Pentagon City and part of Potomac Yard.
There is no Metro park-and-ride facility. Crystal City is dense with commercial garages serving the offices and hotels, and many are accessible from the underground network, but all are privately operated and charge commercial rates.
