It is a residential neighborhood rather than a sightseeing destination. If you are interested in seeing a working DC neighborhood away from the Mall, the Upshur Street restaurant block and the rowhouse streets around Grant Circle are pleasant, but there are no major landmarks here.
The Green and Yellow Lines both stop here. Heading south they run together through downtown Washington before diverging – Green continues into Southeast DC, Yellow crosses the Potomac into Virginia. Northbound the lines run toward Fort Totten and Greenbelt.
No Metro park-and-ride facility is provided. The area is dense and residential, with permit parking on most surrounding streets. Riders here overwhelmingly arrive on foot, by bicycle, or on connecting bus service.
