Judiciary Square takes its name from the concentration of courthouses above it, and the station’s two ends serve two quite different sets of visitors. The F Street exit comes up beside the National Building Museum, one of the most extraordinary interiors in Washington; the other end serves the District’s Superior Court and the federal courthouse complex. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial occupies the plaza directly above the station. It is a Red Line stop, moderately busy on weekdays with court staff, jurors, and lawyers, and quieter at other times – though the proximity of the arena a few blocks west means it also picks up event crowds looking to avoid the crush at Gallery Pl-Chinatown.
